Psychological Trap
How have I found in the trap?
Very easily – the things happen in two ways:
1. We have some problem --> We apply some solution --> The problem is solved!
2. We have some problem --> we apply some solution --> The problem is still exist!
In the second situation was applied dysfunctional solution (that doesn’t work). To simplify, in the second case we have three possibilities:
2.a. We apply other solution --> The problem is solved! (new solution is functional).
2.b. We apply other solution --> The problem still exist! (our new solution is dysfunctional again).
2.c. We apply the same solution again and again --> The problem still exist! The old solution applied with more determination, more frequency or with some small changes still remain dysfunctional, and the situation worse.
Look again on point 2.c. It’s interesting.
If some solution doesn’t work, we should change the strategy!
Unfortunately, most of the people, with more or less awareness, still use the same way to solve their problem even when it appears useless.
Solutions which appears to be efficient (they have sense and are rational), very often can lead to worsen the situation. Previously attempted solutions became the integrative part of the problem, instead of solving it.
The true problems are the attempted solutions. If there are dysfunctional, it means that problem still exists and in following, it worse the situation. In this way, we find ourselves in vicious circle, in which attempted solutions maintain the problem, instead of solving it.
Of course, none of us wants to see the trap, each of us try to solve the problem in a way that seems best suited to him. But we also know that despite the best intentions do not always get the expected result.
"It's from the best of intentions often receives the worst effects."
Oscar Wilde
Both in the case when we have to find a new strategy to solve the problem, or we have to use more that already exists, I strongly encourage you to take action.
Why should we give up the existing reality,
if we can learn to follow it?
